Deviation Actions
I'm sick to death of Fan-Art. I see all these completely competent artists producing carbon copies of characters that have already been created, for once I would like to see them producing their own original work. I don't generally do fan art, which in turn I think makes me less likely to get watchers. I love my original characters and my art, well, some of it. The worst part is that this site promotes that kind of behaviour, it promotes tracing and copying other people's work. Yesterday I busted some girl who had uploaded another deviants art, this really has to stop. I think harsher punishment needs to be laid down for art theft, suspension of account for starters, in worst case scenarios permabans.
It doesn't promote creativity on an art related website to give a slap on the wrist to people who break the rules. All the effort that the original artist puts into their work is cheapened, it's incredibly disheartening, particularly for someone who struggles to produce something amazing, to then have it stolen and all credit removed is despicable. Don't do it!
End rant.

Art Block
Another art block is broken, but it always takes time to really get into a progressive state of art making. Its difficult because I hadn't used this website in such a long time. At the urging of a friend I am back though and I hope to show you some things that I have done soon. Thank you to the people who have stuck by me during this creative drought.
Journal
This is a journal entry. It's been some time since I've written one. How are you all? How is your art going?
After the Storm
Alright, my mood is improved somewhat, and I've gone and done a lot of work outside of DA. Which has made me feel better. I'm working on a video game with my brother now, and it's still in it's development stage. We've got a lot of work ahead of us. The first is always the hardest they say. But once I've got something to show, we should be able to recruit more local talent who are willing to work for free. The great thing about studying with game designers I suppose. We're all noobs trying to make names for ourselves. May as well start somewhere. It's stupid to think you won't be doing freebies immediately after finishing an animation degree,
Thinking of Quitting
DA is dominated by artists who produce sub-par work. This particular person for example has an incredibly bad comic book style, yet has reached over 1 million views. His quick comics are badly drawn and rendered, not to mention poorly written, yet he receives praise constantly.
This crushes my spirits. If only that this was a good place to house my portfolio. I'm thinking I might just create a tumblog for my art. I care less about spreading my art digitally. All the people who matter that are going to see my art, don't use DeviantArt anyway. I'm better off submitting it all to real life galleries. Step out of my comfort zone. Create a profes

What?! Milk comes from cows and doesn't magically appear in cartons?
What?! Images on the internet are actually drawn or photographed by HUMANS and not made by the internet??
..... is the mentality that many people have I think.
Plus not many give a damn about being original or thinking of own concepts and ideas. Lame. =/
